Ο ΦΠΑ δεν αποτελεί από μόνος του παράγοντα υψηλής τιμολόγησης. Ιρλανδία (ΦΠΑ 21%), Φιλανδία(ΦΠΑ 23%) , Νορβηγία (ΦΠΑ 25%), Σουηδία (ΦΠΑ 25%) και Δανία (ΦΠΑ 25%) παρουσιάζουν φθηνότερες τιμές πώλησης από την Ιταλία.

Η χώρα με την φθηνότερη τιμή πώλησης του iPhone 4, μέχρι αυτή τη στιγμή, είναι το Χονγκ Κονγκ (ΦΠΑ 5%):

• 496€ για το iPhone 4 16GB
• 585€ για το iPhone 4 32GB

Η διαφορά των τιμών διάθεσης μεταξύ του Χονγκ Κονκ και της Ιταλίας κυμαίνεται από 133€ εώς 194€ (!!)

Σύμφωνα λοιπόν με σημερινό δημοσίευμα του Associated Press, το “Library of Congress” αποφάσισε ότι η μέχρι πρότινος γκρίζα ζώνη του Jailbreak αλλά και του Unlock γίνεται καθόλα νόμιμη:

WASHINGTON – Owners of the iPhone will be able to break electronic locks on their devices in order to download applications that have not been approved by Apple. The government is making that legal under new rules announced Monday.

The decision to allow the practice commonly known as “jailbreaking” is one of a handful of new exemptions from a federal law that prohibits the circumvention of technical measures that control access to copyrighted works. Every three years, the Library of Congress authorizes such exemptions to ensure that existing law does not prevent non-infringing use of copyrighted material.

Another exemption will allow owners of used cell phones to break access controls on their phones in order to switch wireless carriers.

Sherif Hashim has posted a video in which he demonstrates how simple it is to activate the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G without using the original SIM card. You can literally use any SIM card you want, however you should keep in mind that iPhone 4 users will be required to cut the SIM into a micro-SIM size.

Now before you get all excited, this does NOT mean the phone will be unlocked. This simply Activates the iPhone. This means that you can get past one of the biggest pains you first get an iPhone: Hacktivating it; otherwise you’re stuck on the emergency screen until you do so.

There is no programming needed, so almost anyone can do this without the technical knowledge that one might think would be required. While I can’t fully understand how this works, this is what Sherif has to say:
